You’re just a student—what do you need the Alumni Association for?

All kinds of things! The Alumni Association can provide you with access to more than 460,000 alumni that share a common U-M bond for career development and employment opportunities, beginning while you are a student. Our programs can help you network with alumni, explore your career path, meet new people and just have fun!

Career

  • inCircle—Start networking with one of the University's biggest assets–its more than 460,000 alumni.
  • Job board—Our job board has jobs and internships listed by employers looking to hire Michigan students and grads. You can access our job board on inCircle.
  • Find a mentor—Connect with an alumni mentor who has volunteered to provide career coaching-from information about his or her occupation to relocating to a specific city.
  • Wolverine Occupational Research Center (WORC): This online resource will help you perfect your resume, conduct research about a company you're interested in and get in touch with career counselors.
  • Michigan Apprentice: This gives students the opportunity to shadow high-profile alumni for a day (all expenses paid!) and get an up close and personal look at what it's like to pursue their dream job.

Student Life

  • Dance Marathon: The Alumni Association has partnered with Dance Marathon. Find out more about this worthy group.
  • Arts and Eats: Get some culture and some food for a great price. This program from Arts at Michigan is supported by the Alumni Association. For only $12, you'll get great seats for the show, pizza and a pre-performance discussion to give you more understanding.
  • Welcome Wednesdays: Stop by the Alumni Center every Wednesday for free coffee and bagels. Take advantage of our free WiFi, relax between classes, or learn a little about our programs and services.
  • Football Tailgates: Whenever the football team hits the road the Alumni Association will be there hosting the best pre-game tailgate party in town.
  • e-TrueBlue: Ann Arbor Campus and e-TrueBlue: Seniors: Free, biweekly e-newsletters full of essential news, tips for success at Michigan, and suggestions for fun things to do.
  • Discounts on hotels and car rentals: Road trip? We can help with hotel and car discounts. When you're ready, just email us at m.alumni@umich.edu and we'll send you the access codes.
  • Online games: Are you into college football or basketball? Of course, you are. Then you'll love Pigskin Picks and Michigan Basketball Bracket Bonanza. Each fall, Pigskin Picks lets you battle students and alumni in picking the winners of each week's top college football games.

Before You Graduate

  • College Knowledge–101 Tips for the College-Bound Student Dr. David Schoem, U-M professor and author, will provide tips for college success and happiness and provide insight on classes and faculty, campus life, expanding your social boundaries – and more.
  • Real Life 101: Free seminars that help you get ready for life after Michigan. We focus on important areas like money management, relocation/moving and personal branding.

Networking

  • Blogging: Find out from recent U-M grads how to survive your first 9 to 5 job, what grad school is like and how to pursue your post-college dreams. Our blogs are written by recent grads with you in mind.
